I don't want to make this another "chance me"; however, I have a concern regarding GPA.
I have 3.65 W (up until junior year)which I understand is way too low for Harvard.
However, my gpa goes from 3.1 (freshman) to 3. 8 (sophomore) to 4.15 (junior) to 4.5 (senior up until this point) which shows a dramatic upward trend.
Will Harvard throw away my application at first glance because of my low overall GPA or will they consider this trend and give me a chance to be admitted when combined with other factors.
I have taken toughest courses provided by my school for the most part and other factors of my application focuses on perseverance and improvements.

Harvard accepts 6 students out of every 100 applications it receives. With those kind of odds, many students with 4.0 unweighted GPA’s and 2400 SAT’s are rejected. Rather than asking if Harvard will throw away your application, you should be asking yourself: What unique talents and abilities can I bring to Harvard? What else, besides my GPA and great extracurriculars, will make my application standout from the crowd?

Totally agree - It’s a great answer to ALL the “Chance Me” questions, including those from the (smaller) 4.0/2400 crowd.

I definitely agree with gibby. Also, Harvard takes everything into consideration. They will see the upward trend and improvements you make, so why not take a shot at Harvard? You never know what will happen (:

Thank you for the advices.
I have everythngelse figured out. I know how I will make myself stand out and I really have everything else ready. I was just afraid that my low overall gpa would overshadow my other factors

Make sure to apply to at least a few schools, Princeton being one, that recalculate your GPA to exclude your freshman year grades.

That is awesome…do you know if Princeton includes the senior grades when recalculating GPA?
