Aight so here's the deal. I took one AP class last year for junior year. It was AP Lang and Comp (got a 4, I'm pretty ed). I never submitted it to my colleges! * do I do? I already got into all four I've heard back from, but for my top two (UNC-Chapel Hill and Wisconsin) it might make a difference in my application. Should I send in that score? FYI I'm taking 3 APs this year. I was considering just sending in ALL of my scores when I get my senior AP scores in...is that ok?
Thanks

Did you list the score on your application? I believe that’s the only way they will take it into consideration for your admission. You only need to actually send all of your scores to the college you actually plan to attend to matriculate to.

AP scores make a small difference in admissions; the fact that you took the course and that it’s on your schedule/boosted your GPA would matter more.

Oh yah I did do list the score. I thought you had to send it in to all of the schools. Oh, and why did College Board make it SO FREAKING CONFUSING to send in AP scores? It’s so unnecessarily difficult

It gets a little complicated. Colleges like to see AP courses to show rigor, and they like to see scores because scores are HS neutral and will flush out inflated or deflated HS grades. AP scores aren’t used heavily in admissions, but are used for placement at many colleges. Ironically, the selective schools where AP rigor is most important for admissions are the same schools where the opportunities for actual AP credit utilization are the lowest.

As an example, my National and State AP Scholar son hasn’t utilized any AP credits at his college, though he was able to place out of their foreign language requirement. Had he gone to his State flagship, his AP credits would have allowed him to enter as a junior.

I’m sorry, but what’s wrong with a four? According to the score, it means you are “well qualified.”

Well it was in Lang and Comp, and I’m a really good writer. I aced the class and I’m on the newsmagazine staff so I expected to get a 5

^55% of the test is essays, the other 45% is MC. maybe the MC got you.
To answer your question, you do not need to send official AP scores until you’ve picked the college you want to go to and received senior ap scores.
