I'm living in Canada and was accepted to UGA last week. It says they require 4 Math units to be accepted. Last semester I took data management (or I think it's called "statistics" in the states). This is a Math course and because I've also taken Grade 9, 10, 11 mathematics, I think I am considered to have the necessary amount. This semester I'm taking Calculus and for some reason I've been having some trouble with it. I'm thinking because I already have the necessary math credits, it would be in my best interest to just drop Calculus rather than risk getting a C. I've never gotten a C in school ever and I'm scared UGA may rescind it's decision if I get one. I would rather enjoy my final semester of high school than worry about Calculus anyway. Do you guys think I should drop Calculus or grin and bear it? Do I have enough credits by UGA's requirements or does Grade 9 math not count?

p.s. I am majoring in Arts & Sciences (undeclared)

If anyone has that major I'd appreciate some information about that too.

Thanks a lot guys.

they definitely won't rescind your decision because of a C. seriously.

a lot of colleges do rescind applications because people will be signed up for AP classes, get in to that college, and then drop the AP classes.

just call and ask UGA

personally, i think getting a C would be better than dropping ap calc. maybe if you were to get a d i would consider it, but other than that, don't do it. if you still want to go through with it, just do what fromdistantstar suggested. call the school up and see what they think you should do.

Noone will be rescinding admission if you get a C.

right now i'm a sophomore. I got 1 d when I was a freshman, but havve been making A's and B's since and am taking all honors and AP classes. My GPA will be pretty high by the end of my Junior year. Do you think that if I apply early decision I'll get in or do I have no chance at all?

Any more threads you want to post this in?

Yeah, I mean, come one. 2 thread's it was ok, but still...eh, but once you post the same thing in 3 different threads it just starts getting aggravating. Though Freshman year is still important as long as you show them that you're improving then that's good. Do well on your SATs. On that note, my friend made a D in APUSH and he still got in in February. Listen to everyone else. You're a sophomore, don't worry so much about college yet unless you want to go to places like HYPMS!
