A Quick Question

So I just had my interview. We talked for an hour and a half about all sorts of different things, and he told me the interview was "generally favorable". Is this good or bad?

lol. I'm sure it was fine. My interview was a little shaky, but got better as it went along. You did the best you could.

Sounds fine--certainly not something that will knock you out. Don't worry about it.

I mean, we talked for a really long time, about math and stuff (he's a mathematician), about U. Chicago and about me in general. We even did a couple of proofs, because we got into the idea of math theory, not just application. I asked him if I would be a good fit for Chicago, and he said yes, becasue I have a wide range of academic interests. I asked him if the interview is evaluative, and he said it only helps, and no to worry because it was generally favorable. How do you tell if the interview went well? If it went great? Very nerve-wracking...

You can't tell what the interviewer will say. Don't worry about it any more.
