Hopefully this isnt a stupid question but... is living on campus mandatory at UT?

Also, if you are in the top 10%... when do you hear back for admission? (I really do not understand the whole.. automatic admission thing)

If anyone can answer these questions for me.. it would really help out.. Thanks in advance

living on campus is not mandatory. I know a lot of freshman/first-years who live off campus.

if you’re in the top 10%, you’re automatically accepted into UT. but you’re not guaranteed into your college choice (college of engineering, liberal arts, natural sciences…)

Thank you for your quick response :)

a) It’s not mandatory… there are a zillion people at UT and limited housing availability.

b) I’m in the top 10% and I heard back about about a week after my application was complete (but I applied to a non-competitive major).

i heard back 3 days after i sent my application, and got my letter in the mail a week after i sent my application.

go check on your bealonghorn account, it might not say it straightforward that youve been accepted, but there is now a box that allows you to pay your enrollment deposit, which means youve been accepted.
