Plan on studying econ in college
UPenn (legacy), Princeton, MIT, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, U. of Chicago

You’ve opened, like, four threads of the same thing.

Care to chance me?

I think you have great chances!

thanks man i appreciate it

bump bump 10 char.

U Penn very likely because of legacy, I am sure you know about Wharton so it will be a great fit. UC, Cornell also excellent shot.
HPYM also very good. I think academically you are excellent. But my question would be is there anything else that will make you stand out among the 10,000 or so applicants who have the same academic records? (same question I keep asking myself).
Couple curious questions would be, why don’t you play Varsity instead of JV tennis? Since you are so smart, have you put your talent into helping your community?
Not to pick on you, just similar things I have heard from my senior friends who went through this last year.

Yeah no prob, dont have the time to devote for varsity tennis.

My academic workload doesn’t leave me with enough time to devote to improving my tennis game to play varsity and unfortunately the same goes for community service.
However, I am president of my school’s chapter of Cum Laude Society and we tutor kids from our school after school almost every day of the week so by the time I send in my app I should have about 75+ hours of tutoring in the bag. Thanks for your input, I appreciate the constructive criticism because those are things I have to think about. Thanks for taking the time.

You seem like an academic juggernaut. Unfortunately, there will be many more just like you vying for the same spots at these universities. You have as good a shot as anyone, but unless the subjective parts of your application are stellar, I imagine you may be disappointed come April.

Thanks man, but trust me, I won’t be disappointed come April.

Excellent awards!
Along with decent GPA and outstanding SAT scores.

You might want to attach a resume, describing your role in each of your honor societies.
Just being a president does not cut it.

Good luck, and keep up the excellent progress!
