A really interesting chances thread..

Hey !! I'm applying as a transfer to Wellesley college for the fall semester.. However, this is my case.. I go to Simmons College right now and have a 4.0 and for midterms I had a 4.0..my recommendations are amazing and my essays are great as well. However, my hs grades r not that great but I did improve by the end of my senior yr and I went to one of the best prep schools in the nation (Andover/exeter ..dont really wanna giv it away).. my extracirruculars in hs and in college are really good ..as im the head of many prominent organizations.. my sat scores are M620 V540 W600.. they arent that strong.. what are my chances.. oh and my interview with wellesley went very well.. she said she really hopes she sees me there.. also im from the indian subcontinent (not india) .. and my parents did not go to college.. im first generation.. i speak 4 languages .. i have also applied to Brandeis, BC, babson

if you're applying as of only 1 year of college, then your SAT might hurt you.

if you're applying after two, then it probably wouldn't matter as much, although it might since Wellesley is one of the best.

the recommendations and essays are all subjective, can't really judge how "great" they are. However, your essay should be detailed about how you can benefit from Wellesley (and vice versa), your reasons for transferring, what you have learned while in college, etc etc.

are your ECs in relation with your major? anyone can be leader of a club, but is that club a "good" club? For example, there are multiple "drug" related clubs on my campus that promote a drug free life, alcohol moderation, all that kind of stuff. Quite frankly, they don't do a lot except hand out flyers, or once in a while do a school event like a bake sale fundraiser. Being president of that club isn't on par with let's say, being Editor in Chief of the school newspaper, or the student representative to the adminstration.

i agree with u holding leadership positions in some clubs are more significant than others.

nice profile....whats so interesting in this thread??
