Who knew such good news would be such a BAD thing!!!

I applied RD to Columbia (CC), U. Penn (CAS), Brown, Georgetown (College), NYU (CAS), and Tufts and somehow or another ended up being accepted everywhere.

I plan on majoring in Political Science/Government and Economics, and while I'm pretty sure this is what I want to do, I also know that most people change majors a few times in their four years.

My choices have been narrowed down to 2: Columbia & Georgetown.

(For those of you thinking, "Why not Brown???" I'm pretty sure I want to be in a city environment. Oh and Penn's Poli. Sci. is meant to be the weakest of all their programs.)

I really love the neighborhood of Georgetown, and I'm not SURE if I want to have my undergrad experience in NYC. That said, Columbia is a powerhouse in nearly any subject, whereas if I were to switch out of a Poli. Sci-type major at Gtown, it wouldn't be as strong (also, I'm not in SFS).

Ultimately the decision is mine. I know that, because EVERYBODY has been telling me that this week, but I really want/need some solid advice!!

Congratulations. You can't go wrong with Columbia. You could hardly go wrong with any of those choices. Can you visit your top two again before making the final decision? Your feelings may become obvious.

I can't go visit b/c I'm international (from the Middle East) and it's really just too long a distance to travel in the middle of the school year. But I have visited both schools and Gtown gives me way better campus vibes, although I found the students kinda homogeneous (white, but even if they aren't, rich and preppy).

columbia- extremely diverse student body and best city in the world. the neighborhood that columbia is in is much more mellow than the rest of manhattan, so dont let that scare you away, and the campus is enclosed and simply lovely. there is also a very large middle eastern contingency on campus so you would fit right in.

a) you may change majors
b) columbia is amazing in economics now (just hired a TON of people)
c) in an INCREDIBLE CITY
d) really diverse and open minded student body
