A reasonable plan...and a nit-picky question

Ok, so I've been posting sporadically throughout this semester about my MT plans for the future. I've decided that my best option is to prepare now for a grad school or professional training program like CAP21 once I complete my current, non-MT degree (which will probably end up taking me 5 years). From all the posts I've made and read, does this sound like a reasonable plan to prepare for grad school?

More voice lessons!

Lots of dance, focusing on ballet and jazz, with tap when I have the time.

Get in as many shows as possible - both MT and straight acting.

Try for either a summer intensive or summer stock theater in a few years.

Once I get closer, get a vocal coach to supplement regular voice lessons.

(There is also the possibility I could do a straight theater minor, my school also has a dance minor but you have to audition and I'm not that good...yet)

And as far as the nit-picky question part...I was thinking of trying out for either an a cappella group (of which my college has about 10) or my college's show choir. Which one would be more relevant and relatable to my potential MT graduate school training?

This sounds like a good plan, especially #1-3. I like the idea of focusing on ballet and jazz, and adding tap when u have time. I would say your college’s show choir, just because it makes sense.

Thanks for your suggestion - I did think the show choir would be more helpful considering it combines singing and dance.
