A response would really be nice....

Why is it that when people click on a new thread, they read it but don't post a reply?
Isn't that what we're here for? To help one another out?

That being said, I really need some insight on the thread I started "Can I get in?". It's extremely important to me and I spent quite a while editing it.

Come on guys....try your best and conjur up a response for me.

When I don’t reply it’s because I don’t have an answer! I’m mostly on this forum because I’m looking for information, not because I have any. I’ll take a look at your other thread though.

Laziness, perhaps.

Chancing isn’t really useful to anyone, least of all to you. If you have standardized scores within Harvard’s range, some meaningful extracurricular activities, and a strong academic record, then there’s really no reason to make a chance thread: just apply.

Chances threads are utterly useless. Generally, the only reason I ever reply to them is when one of them is useless in an unusual way, or when I feel like teeing off on someone with perfect grades, 2400 SATs, and awesome non-classroom achievements who nevertheless is so insecure as to whine about himself here. Or to go after people like that who think they are God’s gift to mankind and that only gross jealousy of their superiority could possibly keep them out of Harvard.

No one, but no one, can give you a remotely accurate read of your chances at Harvard based on the information you can post here. There is not a single remotely useful or accurate “chances” thread on CC. It’s begging for attention, or a kind of online flirting, and that’s fine, but you can do a whole lot better at those things by saying something interesting.

I went and “tried my best to conjur up a response” for you. Hope it’s appreciated.

People may not be responding to your chances thread because of your young age, your lack of any test scores (PSAT today?), your lack of GPA. In two years, when you have a full transcript, that is the time for you to look at your record and determine if you are a top performer. For now, just apply yourself to your daily work and raise those grades.
