Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh page two

ooooooooooooooo page 3 of the thread

Maybe I didn't read your first post closely enough, but is there a specific major that you're looking at? This would definitely affect your chances of getting into colleges I think.

I don't know whether or not you should play up your rural/country boy background. Of course, colleges could look at you in a positive light and say that you've done well, given your circumstances. They could also take it the other way, and look at your class rank and say that you've earned that #1 position too easily. When only 20% of your class plans on going to college, adcoms will know that they're probably slackers and didn't work hard through college, thereby boosting your rank.

All in all, I'd say you're a good candidate for any school. Your stats seem a lot like mine (the whole laundry list of ec's thing). :) Good luck!

Thanks lucky. I am will definitely major in Political Science, with perhaps a double major in Economics.

Wow this died quick. Chances is a busy area it seems. ANYWAYS, I'm adding JHU to my list to add another reachish matchish school, ie not as crazy as Dart or H and P, but not as low as UMaryland or American. So anyone wann give me some chances at Hopkins? It'll be easier since I'm majoring in social sciences (econ and poli sci) right?

Have you visited any of these schools?

Just UChicago, and I liked it. The other ones are far away, and I'll only have the money to visit once, so that has to be during the period when I can interview (not a lot of alumni in my impoverished town of 15,000).
