"In most industries, a company would cater to customers paying $41,000 per year, but Harvard has been able to take its undergraduates for granted. (It was a radical innovation when Summers called attention to surveys measuring students' dissatisfaction.) Harvard has long known that the best students will keep coming, not for its classes but simply for its reputation."

Yawn...
Did Yale change their mind, or are you still rejected...

P.S. When you apply as a transfer to Yale, I don't think
Harvard-bashing counts as a legitimate extracurricular activity.

I'm not going to Yale.

I'm quite happy with Stanford.

End of story.

Yes, we know you're not going to Yale, your first-choice.
Because you were REJECTED.

Maybe I'd take your posts more seriously
IF, IF, IF I knew it was because you were serious in posting them,
as opposed to you having this weird Harvard-basing obsession/inferiority complex.
Stanford is a PHENOMENAL school... a peer of Harvard.
So why do you feel the need to troll the Harvard board to trash a school you know NADA about?

P.S. And you know I am right, because I DISAGREE with Byerly on EVERYTHING... but I agree with him on this...

For whatever reason, he used to post a link to his candid, personal website. If you'd had a chance to glance through it, you would have understood his psychology a little bit. He took the Yale rejection very hard.

Despite what he says, I think he finds Stanford a little boring, and wishes he could be a real participant in what he imagines to be the exciting world of Ivy rivalries,

Not a bad kid, really except for this unfortunate obsession.

Zephyr,
Yes... making fun of your Yale rejection is cruel and unfair (I admit that although I was accepted at Harvard, Stanford, and MIT, I was ****ED that I was waitlisted at Princeton)... ordinarily, I would never mock someone's rejection... but you are so damn annoying and transparent in your Harvard-bashing... you do it ONLY because you have this internal need to make yourself feel better for being at Stanford.

If it makes you any happier... if I could do it over again, I would have gone to Stanford... see? you have nothing to feel inferior about.

I think Stanford sucks. So does Harvard and Yale and Princeton and MIT and all the big name schools. I really hate it when people try to be so damn proud of their schools and let its prestige define them. I see it so much here in Stanford where people think that just because they go to Stanford they are now transformed, superior people.

They need to get a life.

This thread reeks of pretension.

what the hell is this? are you serious bashing this kid getting into Stanford?

its goddamn stanford. youre making it sound like its boise st or something.

sheesh.

I liked the intro, when he sarcastically called for the resignation of the Crimson's ed board chair.

I think you all need to get off your high horse.

Folks,
There is a context here... it's not like we're going after Zephyr out of the blue... and we're NOT bashing him for Stanford... it's a freakin' phenomenal school... we're just tryin to push Zephyr's buttons
because his sole reason for ever commenting on the Harvard side is to bash Harvard... it's annoying. Fair critiques of schools are important and helpful... but he only trolls the Harvard side to bash it.

You're right. I know two people who got into Harvard and are now "Gods" and are complete asses, actually...

Zephyr has just gotten extremely annoying with his CONSTANT Harvard bashing.

Dude, go have fun @ Stanford, it's an amazing place...

This is an awesome thread:

"OMG!!!11111 You got rejected by Yale, and now you go to Stanford!!!1111BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!111"

"Harvard is for poopyheads!!!!!11!"

Wow, Everyone here needs to develop a life. I mean why Harvard bash? Its a waste of time. Why complain about Harvard bashers and go to their website to find out about their personal psychology. I think anyone who wastes their time here needs to get a better hobby. As for me, the minute I get into college, I'm gone. Well not that same minute, but I will lose interest in this site fast. I suppose I'd return occasionally to help others out, but that would really be it. I'd be a fool to stay and bash other schools and people. I mean comon! You're never gonna meet these people ever! Why do you care!??!?

Even Byerly, who I respect for helping us out when he has no need or obligation to do so, annoys me at times. Why do you have to defend Harvard all the time? I mean does it make any difference what a few people on this site think? There are millions of people out there who know that Harvard is the top school in the world! Why do you have to defend it from a bunch of immature high school students? Its not even like it will make a difference in terms of cross admits. I mean Harvard will always be able to find students good enough to get in. The time you spend finding links etc. to help support support Harvard can be spent doing many things-perhaps helping other college applicants on this site. Don't waste your time doing this. I suppose that you enjoy arguing and making harvard bashers look like fools, but still, It makes no difference except you lose out on valuble time, which makes you the fool.

I am always available to help applicants, and my PM box is usually overflowing. Unlike some posters and lurkers here, I am not "in the business" and never charge.

In the meantime, I will continue to provide links to relevant data and correct misstatements or smears wherever I see them, anywhere on the CC site.

When anything or anyone at Harvard deserves "bashing" (like the selfish anti-Summers minority within the FAS faculty), I will be first in line to do the job!
