A school you should know about

Just wanted to pass on some information about Earlham College in Indiana. This small school offers excellent academics, financial aid and merit money for international students, and a very welcoming environment for international students. In fact, on a campus with just under 1200 students, Earlham has 120 international students and is actively recruiting more. Here's an article about Earlham's international student program. Hope someone will find it useful and helpful: http://www.pal-item.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050725/NEWS01/507250301/1008

A disclaimer: I have a personal interest in Earlham. It is my daughter's first choice, partially because of the international diversity. She spent two weeks at Earlham's summer program this year and met Earlham students from Uganda, Afghanistan, France and Japan. She loved the sense of community and the emphasis on respect and found the academics challenging.

A word of caution: "Earlham gives partial financial aid awards with a current maximum value of one half tuition" - Here's more info on their financial aid policies
I think its the same with the College of Wooster.

Earlham however does offer 2 full scholarships to entering freshmen (and intls are eligible) each year, so its definitely worth a shot for those of you looking for full financial aid.

So Carolyn have you decided to start your own consulting/counseling company ;)
I'm sure it will be awesome :)

Hello,
I wanted to clarify: The full two scholarships are specifically for international students, not all students. Competition is tough - but not as tough as at some other schools for internationals. As the page you linked to said, generally internationals who receive the full scholarship have 1300-plus SATs.
