<p>I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into ODU. Campus safety probably is a legitimate concern, but I’m sure some of my high school peers will end up attending and doing quite well, so it’s worth applying to, but probably not a good first or second choice.</p>

<p>Northeastern seems like it’d be a bit more difficult to get into as compared to ODU, but it’s also worth a try. I have a feeling you’re not totally out of the range for there either.</p>

<p>Keep researching, there are plenty of great schools out there! If you’re interested in Virginia schools with reasonably competitive but not insanely competitive admissions, I’d suggest checking out University of Richmond and George Mason University. Both have safer campuses than ODU, and U of R is gorgeous. Some Carolina schools might be good too. I’ve heard that UNC Chapel Hill is quite hard to get into freshman-wise, but I don’t know about transfers. Maybe you should look into UNC Greensboro, just in case. They’re less selective but I’ve still heard great things about UNCG.</p>
