A somewhat stupid question

Ok, I know that the college mailings tend to be complete BS, and I've read them, and dismissed them since they started arriving on my door.

However, this morning i got one from Scripps(a school i am considering applying to, it's not a definate just yet) urging me to apply for their JES Scholars Scholarship. Basically, it's just telling me to make sure my app is in by Nov. 1st.

Is this letter more BS, or is it legit?

I don't know if i'd even be in the running for merit aid.
34 ACT
3/447
4.0 uw/4.2 w

Is that even in their ball park??? Any info is awesome

sums up the mentality of some people on this forum :)

^^but there are kids with 35s and 36s, who are valedictorians…

i just don’t believe in being overly confident

you are in the 99th percentile…in fact your score could’ve been a 36 if the curb was a little lower

I am sure the letter is legit. Send an application to Scripps by Nov 1 and see what happens.

^^^thanks…that was my main concern. I don’t put too much faith in some of those letters

It’s a legit request for you to apply. However, it is not a guarantee of either admissions or scholarship.

If you want to apply there anyway, be glad they notified you so that you wouldn’t inadvertently missed a deadline.
