A Thread For All Those Waitlisted

Hello everyone. This is a thread for all those wait listed, as I was. I am still in love with Kenyon and want to do whatever I can to get off the wait list and into the class of 2015. I figured we could all share tips and ways to boost our chances of getting in. Also, if you were wait listed and aren't taking the spot, let us know -- or if you were accepted and aren't going.

Here are my stats, by the way:
GPA: 3.8 UW
ACT: 31 (27 math, 33 English)
SAT: 2040 (680 math, 690 reading, 670 writing)
My school doesn't rank, but I think I'm in the top ten percent.
All honors and AP classes. (4 APS -- a 4 in APUSH - haven't taken the other three tests yet)
I've done a lot of theatre with leadership positions, started two little clubs at my school, a bunch of community service, choir/voice lessons.
I thought my essays were really good, and that my teacher wrote me a good letter.
Weaknesses: I'm a typical Kenyon applicant (white, female, English major), applied for aid, didn't interview (I did visit)

hey mashy! thanks for making this thread. kenyon is still near the top of my list. i was wait listed at middlebury too, and that was my 1st choice. but i’m really going to push kenyon since i think i have more of a chance than at midd.

stats: 3.7 gpa weighted, 31 ACT, AP Lit, APUSH, APLang, AP Psych, and other honors courses in the humanities. i’ve gotten 4’s and 5’s on them so far
i’ve been heavily involved in my school’s literary mag and newspaper, plus i’ve done a lot of creative writing workshops outside my school. i sent in a portfolio to kenyon as a supplement type thing. horseback riding is also a major part of my life and therefore my app as well.
but blehh our weaknesses are absolutely identical. except i DID interview and i didn’t apply for aid! yikessss. also, my GPA is a little low.

i really hope many of us can get off the wait list!! good luck to everyone!

I’ve looked at a lot of stats about how many people end up attending the school from the wait list, but I was wondering how many people are offered a spot from the wait list and turn it down?
