a thread for us intls taking the SAT in November

Yup... just talked to my mom, and she said they only had Kaplan's where she looked in Delhi and she doesn't have the time to really scout around for more, so yeah... I guess I'll just have to manage with that. Thanks for all your help anyways.

You can always order online, you know. I used PR too. The book you use can change your score.

Physics : PR
Writing : Kaplan
Math IIC: u dont need any just a scientific calculator.

for Math IIC DONT take Barrons BIG WASTE OF TIME, try PR most reliable

I got my Physics PR from amazon.com

im going to take SAT 1 in NOvember and then Sat 2 in decem.. I hope that I can get 700++ in my math

Taking Math IIC in November and possibly retaking SATI in december.

astrix, I think I did really badly on Math IIC. So I might have to re-write it as a standby.

My son bought both PR and Barrons for Physics. If you read user comments in Amazon, it seems that students from the Eastern hemisphere found Barrons more useful, while the US students found PR more useful. My son got a 730 in June. He is retaking it in November.

Some little questions:

What is No.2 pencil? I know only hard, soft and hard-soft.

Well, that's only cuz' Barrons is more easily available in the Eastern Hemisphere... so, its not a question of which we prefer, sugee... more a question of what we have to manage with. But they don't have either in my part of the world, so I'm having to manage with Kaplan's... it isn't that bad. Explains the concepts pretty well if you know something about the topics already.

Stardragon, the pencils are called no. 2 pencils. They are slightly thicker... used mainly by artists and stuff. Just ask your nearest retail store guy... he'll know. I use no. 2B, if that's a help.

Many thanks, downtheway!!
I didn't know this because it's uncommon type of the pencils in my country.

Hey

How did you people do??

I got

720 Physics
770 Math IIC
760 Writing

I'm happy :)

Those are great! The writing score is awesome, I hoping for a >600 or something... ;) Anyway, congrats!

Now, if only I could get my scores...

Thanks ria!! The scores seem to have disappeared. But they'll be back, and I hope you do well!

Stardragon:
If you can get hold of an HB pencil it's the same thing as a #2 (it must be true because google says so!). probably the same as the hard-soft one you mentioned. They might even have pencils for you at the testing centre. I know I worried about this, and without good reason. It was more fun than studying math though.

Oh yeah... forgot to mention that. HB pencils are the same thing... at least I assume so cuz' most of the people at my testing centre were using those. LOL. I agree with you lauraanne. Worrying about stuff like this is such a good excuse to not study. Makes you feel you're doing something worthwhile too. That's what all the time I spend on CC makes me feel like.

Still no scores!! This is not fun anymore... :(

ria... if it's the homepage that's not opening and gives a temporarily unavailable, you should go to https://ecl.collegeboard.com/account/login.jsp

Thanks, but I can log in, the problem is it still says registered. No scores.

Hey from the Philippines....:)

Barrons screwed me over. Nothing I learned in there was on the test. I got a 690 on the Math IIC. Should I retake that or my SAT I 1500(700M, 800V) for Early Action?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

retake the IIC
