A Time to Rejoice and Relax

lol pentasa

Wait..clarify the whole emory rejection thing...ED rejection or what?

no offense or anything but why the hell are there like 500 moms that just sit around on these boards? thats pretty adult-like and all right???

A lot of them are here for their kids or just to help us out. There aren't that many anyways, its just quite a few of them are frequent posters

I think they add a great deal to the discussions myself...Perspective, wisdom, etc.

Many of the parents (dads too! :)) are 100 times more helpful than the kids. They've not only gone through it themselves, their kids are going through it too. There are some parents who are so helpful, I don't think cc would be cc without them. I consider them a natural extension of the cc community

but honestly why? what are they doing? seriously, think about it.

Honestly, what are * you* doing? These parents are just concerned about their children's educations and have found this a great source of information as well as a place to just chat. Yeah, there are a couple of neurotic parents, but it's nothing compared to the hundreds of neurotic kids on this board. In fact, you should be thanking the parents- without them, half the kids here wouldn't be able to tell a FAFSA from a CSS.

Congratulations, Vicks! Job well done. Great school. Tough choices. I don't know what you meant either about ccers as I can tell you that though I would not call you a shoo-in at those schools, nor would I call you a long shot. Your choices are getting ever more selective each year, and though I would not say that you would not get in, or don't bother, I would certainly feel you should vary your selectivites as it appears you did. Your resume was well received, it seems, and your file impressive for you to get the results you did. You are in some excellent company as I know some impressive kids who are going to some of those schools.

Go to Miami, its so fun there (from what I hear)

The moms are a wonderful part of CC (look at jamimom, who's about to hit her 2,000th post - WOW!). They've been really helpful with everything.

Many stay on long after their kids are done with everything, but hey, many kids do that too, I was accepted ED on December 20th but I've stayed on partially because it's a whole community but mostly to help others because I recieved so much help myself.

I think jamimom's comments were out of line.

Actually guys, if you look at his original "what are my chances" post, the comments he received were pretty much accurate: no to emory, nyu, and harvard; yes to the others.

Congrats though Vicks!
