A topic about my main interest or something that's completely irrelevant?

So I know that having a central theme throughout your entire application is important and I want my “theme” or single area to be focused on my business interests/desired major. However, the essays that I wrote/planning to write will most likely be topics that have nothing to do with my business interests and other hobbies (such as ballet, etc.). The topic that I have in mind is irrelevant to anything that is on my application, but I feel like I could write the best possible essay that I can with the specific random topic that I have in mind. I’ve created a business and I was initially going to write about that, but once again, I feel like I could write a better essay with the random topic in my mind… Any suggestions?

I’m in the same boat :stuck_out_tongue: I’m trying to center on engineering for my application but I wrote another essay about something random and didn’t attribute any of my goals in that essay to engineering because it wouldn’t fit the tone :stuck_out_tongue:

Bump

Go with the random topic, but try to tie the essay into a personal quality or your main focuses (for example, why you started the business).

@1golfer1 Yeah, it’ll definitely show a personal quality of mine, but not sure how my random topic will tie in with why I started my business, for example.
