A transfer applicant question [sorry if this is the wrong place]

I have a few questions about transferring to Brown.

What is the average GPA they are looking for? I heard 3.6+ but does anyone have perhaps stats or something from previous years?

This might be a stupid question but, is there transfer year only a sophomore transferring to Brown for junior year or can it be done after only one year at the school you attend [for me, UC Davis].

Other than a great GPA, what else will I need to do? On the site, I am confused about the “test options above or SAT I and 3 subject tests” does that mean in two years I have to retake the SAT’s?!

alright thanks very much =]

I don't know too much about GPA etc, but what I can tell you is that Brown does not accept applicants with less than a year elsewhere and that you can't/won't receive credit for more than 2 full years (i.e. you can't come in with a higher than semester 5 level standing) and get a Brown degree. They figure at least half your time must be spent at Brown to get a Brown diploma and that with less than a year at a university you haven't demonstrated much difference from being an applicant straight from high school.
