Hey guys! I'm kinda befuddled by the fact that most universities require at least a year of

study at another institution as a transfer student, but, say, I got into my current

university in September, 2009, am I eligible to apply by the time March, 2010?

yes you would be able to since you would be applying for the Fall 2010 term.

but by the deadline March 15th I wont finish all the finals of spring quarter? it doesn’t matter?

no since you will be sending your mid year report for this semester and your final transcript for the spring semester

Thanks… kind of unprepared for that do you think apply as a spring transfer is good?

it is up to you most schools are fall semester only . Where are you considering?

Cornell and Dartmouth for now, might search for some other spring transferable colleges…

The issue is, I matriculated september, 2009, if I apply on March 2011, the chances will be really slim right?

well it depends heavily on you high school stats also. Since you are a freshman

There is nothing confusing. The one year requirement tells you to spend one year before you separate from your school. So, if you enroll in Fall 2009, you can transfer for Fall 2010. But you apply for transfer admission for Fall 2010 in advance.
