A true safety...

thanks for the replies everyone.

hunt—I agree. It’s definitely debatable. I doubt I have a good chance at any of those Ivies…although I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to get into Cornell because apparently Cornell loves my high school. If only Brown loved it just as much…

mattmom—I’m basing my estimation of my chances at Williams on past acceptance rates from my schools and with what GPA’s and SAT’s, etc. Based on that, I think I have a good chance of getting in. Don’t get me wrong, it being one of the best (if not the best) liberal arts schools in the nation, Williams is obviously very difficult to get into…and don’t think I’m underestimating it. I’m having trouble finding a really great safety. I think I would like RPI…but I can’t really see myself going there, if that makes sense. I don’t want to go to UConn…it’s too big of a school for me. And I want to stay in the northeast/midatlantic. Perhaps I’m just being hopeful saying that Brown is a low reach for me. I think I have a decent chance ED…but who knows. Anyway, thanks for the response. Now i’m off to looking for a safety. Any suggestions?

ebeeee—I’m not sure what I plan on majoring in. I really want to explore what’s out there…although I’ll admit that my strongest subject is math. I also love science and english…so it’s not like I’m really exactly sure what I want to major in. If I had to choose now, it would be math, but that is completely subject to change.

Gaffe—I don’t go to Choate. And I’m pretty much applying to Yale, Harvard, and MIT because my parents what me to do it just for the he** of it. Cornell is not tops on my list at all, but I think I have a great chance of getting in. The ones that I am really interested in are Brown, Penn, and Dartmouth, with Brown being my first choice.
