It appears that the consistent and brutal attacks on UC funding by the people of this state (who don't seem to be intelligent or educated enough to see how devastating the long term effects of this, on the entire economy of the state, will be for EVERYONE) will spell the doom of UC's prestige as a world renowned place of learning!

While I don’t necessarily think it is great that scholars are leaving the UC system for better grants and salary packages at other school, I also can’t blame them either. If you truly interested in research and advancing the field you are involved, in, why wouldn’t you leave for a better package and more research opportunities? I’m not condoning this, but I do see the rationale.

I’m sure its more than a few thousand dollars. If you’re research money was being cut too, and you were being faced with a wonderful package at another school, I think it would be hard to resist.

Any your plan for closing the 25 billion $ state deficient is …

This is the problem with politics in America, everyone wants tax cuts and government benefits at the same time .

The CSU system educates 2x as many students with less funding, the UC’s need to take a reality check . No you can’t spend money the state doesn’t have .

its okay to tell me my idea is wrong, maybe even stupid but i live in these slums and people are selling their foodstamps for cash so they can buy weed and 40’s

Hmm, i’ve lived in the same slums… and maybe at most 10% are doing that . The other 90% are barely getting by on the very little that ebt and WIC gives them . These people have nothing else .

Now if you would of said somthing not so hateful, like tax the rich, or add a another sales tax that would of been fine, but no lets blame the poor .

nahhh, but they are part of the problem. lets me real

do your studying get legalized as a citizen, put in work, if you lose work collect benefits, dont flee your country and come here and have 30 kids and try to live off taxpayers.

thats extremely not fair. meg whitman was goin the right way when she was talking about getting strict on that stuff.

blahh what do i know. im just a CCC student that watches late night porn.

That was one big over generalization. Maybe YOU should do your studying. The poor and those on government assistance are not in a big conspiracy to take money from the state.

Jesus. Please just don’t comment on things you don’t know about.

It gets harder and harder to read your comments every day, especially when they’re stereotypical and border on racism. Which is kind of ironic seeing as you started a thread about racism in irvine.

seriously, i don’t understand your comments ‘i like white, so i hope white people don’t make me not like white people’ why would a few bad apples make you hate an entire race?
