A weird letter from Emory..

It's a little old - from the 6th of January, & this is the first paragraph:

"Dear .......:

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Emory University by having you standardized test results sent to us. Your self-reported perfomance and test scores indicate that you are probably the kind of student who has traditionally enrolled at Emory and done well.
[...]"

I did send my SAT I & SAT II scores, but I didn't self-report anything!
As far as I remember even my application wasn't ready on the 6th of January.

What do you think they mean by "self-reported performance"??

I got the same letter and didn't think anything of it. You probably shouldn't make too much of it either, whether positively or negatively.

"self reported"...it could be referring to what you put on your Common App (or Universal App)/ Emory supplement.

I got the letter too, they send it out to everyone who has decent SAT scores once they send them in...doesn't mean anything

"Self reported" simply means that you had college board send your scores to the school. The "performance" just means that your scores are within their accepted ranges.

Since you hadn't yet formally applied, they simply were trying to nudge you to do so.

my D got it too! but it doesn't mean nothing!

I got the same letter last May after I submitted my SAT scores to them. There's nothing to it. Just wait until your decision comes out in a couple of days. Good luck!
