A Weird Question

Recently, I checked the new data of the UCLA 09 transfer admission.

I find that there is only about 8% admit rate for the Econ major, which drops aobut 5 to

6% from last year. I also find that there are less applicants, 200 something in 2009 and

500 somthing in 2008. Does this data mean that UCLA will accept less students if less

students apply to a certain major, and it becomes harder to get into that major?

I think this is an error, econ is a very popular major, so I think the stats got switched with Economics/International Development.

You can email to ask if this is an error or not

Ok. Thats also what i think.

But whats the actual difference between biz/econ and econ in UCLA?

And can u minor in accounting if u major in just Econ?

^ I think a few posters speculated that international econ was mixed up with regular econ.

Difference is Biz-econ= Econ+Acct you take pretty much all the same course and only need I believe 2-3 acct classes to get the minor. Econ gives you more freedom on what you wanna take.

Thank you. that means Econ major can also minor in accou right?

I don’t think the list is final yet…I saw it posted back in May and doesn’t seem like they’ve updated it yet

Yes, but I believe you still have to apply for the minor and I’m not sure if your ahead of other people in other majors. Someone at UCLA or in the minor wanna input this?
