a year absence (2)

[I'm a junior in a school in Ohio.

I'm planning a year absence from high school.

I'm an international student and my family can't afford the tuitions.

However, I'll have my canadian residence in about 1 year..

so i'm planning a year absence -which i'll spend working and studying by myself.

will this affect my admission to colleges?]

that was my original question. forgot to add something important.
i'm intending to return to school after that 1 year. Perhaps i'll take SATs and subject tests or APs... but i wanna dedicate that time working and learning more about the world and find out what i want to do. Then I'll return to school as a senior and get my highschool diploma. so... would this affect my admissioN?

p.s. thanks menloparkmom and 'rentof2 for your kind responses ;]

I don't know, but I don't think it would. It might make for a very interesting essay topic, actually, if you spend that time in interesting and productive ways.

im actually not quite sure. however, do the things you plan to, preferably something really great, and study for the sat's!
