Random question that may seem really stupid:

You have to be 21 to get into bars?

It depends on location. I've only tried to go to bars in two cities. In Toronto (Canada), they ALWAYS carded at the door. Few let the under-19 crowd in, and the ones that did marked both hands very clearly and had people watching. By contrast, of the bars I went to in Cleveland, none of them carded at the door, only the bar, making age a non-issue. Even the one with a door guard was mostly concerned with dress code and cover charge, not ID.

Weird. All the bars down here are 18... I've never had a problem getting in anywhere. (But then again, where I live they may as well promote underage drinking, especially during the festivals).

The ones here card at the door, and they only ever let in 18/19+ (it's 19 at some places here because in Alabama 19 is legal, not 18) on certain nights, usually Wed and/or Thurs. They also make sure everyone not 21 gets two big ol' X's on both hands in sharpie (the big thick sharpie you can't wash off easily).

I had a similar problem last year. i took a gap year and it is unbelievable how much I learnt about myself and grew over the past year andd I was already considered quite mature and had a lot of older friends. I have never and still dont have a problem being with older people. PM me if you want a more detailed explanation. Im still going to be young when I enter college in the fall but Im a very very different and more profound person than I was a year ago.(Even though then I did not think I would change that much). I agree you are very smart to graduate early and will thrive just find out what will suit you best.

However if a school I did not really like did not suggest this after giving me a guaranteed deferred admission I would have gone straight if I could. I was not ready to settle for the schools I felt would not challenge me as much that I got into at the time. I would have gone but now Im happy I did not go and have ended up at my top choice school. One I had not even heard of last year so Im very grateful
