I am on track to get my AA degree at the same time I graduate high school through dual enrollment. I am stuck on what to do as far as applying for colleges. A counselor at the community college I go to, told me that I want to think about if I want to apply to universities as a freshman with my AA degree or purposely become a transfer student by taking one course in the summer and then transferring to a university. I currently want to enroll as a freshman with my AA and some universities I am looking at are UF, UCF, and FSU to name a few. However, due to my unexpected low NEW SAT score of 1180 I am questioning my admission chances and if I should apply differently. I can not retake the SAT in time for early admission. One of my many questions are do I apply early and hope for at least a deferral so I can try to improve my SAT or don’t take the chance on a rejection and apply late? Should I apply as a freshman or transfer? What are the pros and cons of doing either? Should I not go for my AA degree? What do you suggest I do from here? I have very little resources and lots of questions to be answered, thanks for any information you can provide me. I am also not quite sure about what I’m majoring in but if I had to choose right now it’d be Civil Engineering.
