is it worth getting it? i only need PE which i would have to take in summer to get it... but does it help with interships or anything after I transfer or are interships just through clubs? or does it really not matter since i'll be getting BA anyway?

also i was planning to do other stuff this summer but if its of great importance i guess i'll go for it... but all i really care about is IGETC...

I was in the exact same position as you, only had to complete PE for the AA.

Personally, I ended up taking it during the winter (there were no other courses i could/needed to take). I figured I might as well have something to show for my time at the CC. Ended up losing six pounds to boot.

almost everyone here is UC bound and likely to end up with either a BA/BS degree from a UC institution. Frankly, I don't think anyone really cares about the AA after that.

depends what kind of interships you are talking about. If you are talking about fellowships and such, then no an AA degree will not help since to getting one of those is mostly based on grades and interest. at least at my school.

I can understand not wanting to go for the AA if it were a hassle, but if its only one class that's keeping you from obtaining it (PE no less) I really don't see the problem...

edit: Another thing to consider, if you plan on going to a grad school you may have to explain not going for the AA. I know med schools do a pretty a thorough academic review on their applicants.

I'm taking PE to get my AA in Liberal Arts; think about it this way, it's just PE...and if you need to work part time during your time at UC, you'll get paid more and internships would consider you over others who do not have an AA; atleast that's how I look at it.

so why would it even matter if you have ba/bs and an aa when people look at the highest level of education. i can bet most ph.d's/md's/jd's do not have an aa.

I'd say that an associate's degree in business might, just might, serve you down the road somewhere even if you had a more advanced degree. My completely ignorant guess, however, is that an AA in liberal arts will not give you any boost at all. If I understand correctly, it's basically an associates for completing your GE.
