aa transfer looking to go to FSU or UCF

I am currently enrolled at community college, my major is psych, I messed up my first year but now I’m getting better and raising my gpa.
I’ve spoken to my advisor and the earliest I can graduate will be summer of 2017. Here’s the problem, I did some calculations with my gpa, and by summer it will be at least a 2.7-2.8, I know universities say you need a minimum of 2.0 but I don’t think I have no chances at all since universities are picky.
I don’t do any extracurriculars which I probably should but would it help?
Anyways, I would love to get into FSU but my major is limited access and I think at UCF as well.
Here are my questions

  1. Can I get accepted into the university but not the program? Would they put me as undecided or would I need to pick another major that’s non limited access? How does that work?
  2. Should I still apply even though my chances are not that good?
  3. College apps should I start now or wait until I have my final grades before I graduate?
  4. Being well rounded, does volunteering or having a job help?
  5. Since I’ll be an AA transfer they won’t be checking anything from highschool right?

I need advice on what can I do right now to get accepted to at least one of those universities, my main is FSU but I know its really competitive, I’m also still searching for other ones to apply to but so far those are the ones I would love to attend.
