I’ve learned a lot from other posts on here; however, I haven’t found any newer updates by anyone in my same situation. Most posts are directed towards incoming Freshman and/or main campus transfers.
My situation: I graduated high school in 2008 and finally went back to college last year to obtain my first AA this Spring 2020 (Florida college). I applied to UCF as an AA transfer for the online History BA (I have a decent paying job that I can’t leave behind to move to campus as I support my husband, too, so I opted for the online distance program).
Academics: 3.88 GPA, SAT/ACT scores not required for transfers (although, it kept my old ACT score from 2007 when I originally planned to apply the first time–embarrassingly! I hope they don’t acknowledge twelve year old scores from a lax teen or I may as well hang it up now… ha!)
My dates: I submitted my online application on 8/12/2019 for Summer 2020 term. By the first week of September, the school received my high school transcript, two college transcripts, and proof of residency. I’ve received transfer fliers and information from the school in the mail, but nothing regarding a final decision.
My UCF portal still claims, “If all required documents have been received, your application is currently being reviewed by our admission committee for the Summer 2020 term. Please check back here for updates to your admission status.” I wrote admissions who essentially said the same thing, with the exception of stating there are rolling admissions (which I was hoping would benefit me by applying early for my term).
My question: Does anyone know how long a decision typically takes for just an online transfer? One of my college transcripts do state, “An initial official transcript has been received. Please request that a final transcript be sent after completion of all courses completed prior to entering UCF.” However, I kind of assumed they’d still be able to make a decision since I only have 3 credits left for my AA.
I’d appreciate ANY thoughts, insights, or stories from others in similar situations. Really hoping for a good outcome so I can visit the school and (hopefully) decline the other acceptance packages I’ve gotten. Thanks!
