So, I have a really bad case of hayfever at the moment. Itchy eyes, itchy throat, blocked nose. I've been trying to study for my Math test tomorrow but every-time I look at my book my eyes literally start burning. My eyes are swollen and pinched and really, really tired. I'm weighing my options - I could either miss school tomorrow, or hand in a note to the teacher saying I'm sick and haven't been able to study so I could be excused from the test. What should I do? I don't have the BEST attendance in the world, but my school doesn't really care, and I'm changing schools next year so it won't matter much. But, for the sake of being good I'm willing to go, but I'm SICK and don't know what to do? Should I stay, or go and hand in a note for the test? - Which I can without a doubt not do because of being unable to study for the past few days?

Is this a contagious disease?

Well, not really. It’s hay-fever. Don’t you have that in America? Like, when the pollen count is high, people start to get runny noses and itchy eyes due to the grass and trees and blah. It’s that. I don’t have medication for it ATM, but I don’t know if I should go or not. It’s not contagious.

Oh, allergies. I’ve heard the term hay-fever before, just didn’t know it was allergies.

If it’s that bad, just don’t go.

lol, just, lol

hayfever is usually referred to the olden’ days back when people have the condition in which they always have a fever. (ps. im pretty sure that sentence i just wrote is ungrammatical)

You can excuse yourself just from a test?

My school would just be like, “Pfft, that’s BS. You’re taking it. If you’re willing to come to school sick, then you should be able to take the test sick.”

Just miss school, load up on meds, get plenty of rest, study, and hope you get better.
Then take the test the next day.

@Jenonymous even if I miss my teacher won’t let me retake, plus I have a presentation which I consider sorta more important, so I guess I’ll have to go… My team’s counting on me. If I miss, my teacher + classmates are gonna think I’m bunking on purpose so I can miss the test.

And yeah, you can excuse yourself from a test if you have a note from your parents. (My school’s pretty lenient.)

Oh :|

Well, then get well soon is all I can say! Lol.

I wish. Hay-fever, or ‘allergies’ season is gonna last till July. Summer is a real killer for all of us folk who have it. Oh well. I guess I’ll just load up on the pharmaceuticals and take some rest.
