"Dear 2012 J Camp applicant:

Thank you for applying to the 2012
J Camp program and being patient while we made our selections. We are sorry to inform you that you were not selected into this year’s program. We had many strong candidates and the decision was difficult.

Please note that AAJA has scholarships and internships available for aspiring journalists. Please
visit our website starting in August for more information.

We wish you the best in your future endeavors!

Sincerely,

Nao Vang"

Mine was a tad bit different. I’m a rising senior.

By rising senior do you mean you will be a senior in the fall?
They probably sent different messages to each grade.

I’m a rising senior too. . . I got the same message as rainycity

I’m going to be a junior in the fall.

Hey everyone, AAJA has announced the students who will attend J-Camp: [2012 J Camp Selected Students](http://2012jcampstudents.■■■■■■■■■■/)

…Which kind of bewilders me, as I still have not received a formal rejection email. Maybe they hate me?

I feel like East Brunswick always sends a kid.

Did you ever get a confirmation email?

Yup, I got the confirmation email on March 28th and emailed Nao Vang on saturday to find out when I’d be notified of my status. He never responded.

that’s really weird. i have no response.

I’m hesitant about emailing Mr. Vang again. I don’t want him to get the idea that I’m desperate for a response. Which I am.

You don’t have anything to lose. Do it.

I wish I could’ve applied. But I live in New York, and Regents exams are scheduled for the very week of the program. :(

I got in! Sorry to those who didn’t :(. I’m sure you all will have fantastic summers despite not getting into this one camp!

To those who did get in: do you know if there’s a way we can get to know each other before the camp? Or do they discourage that? Can’t wait to meet all of you!
