Results are out!!

I was accepted! Did anyone else get in? I’m so excited for D.C!

I was accepted too! I am absolutely thrilled and so thankful Can’t wait to see you there!

So no email equals rejection for the rest of us?

omgomg i didn’t get an email yet! what does this mean?!?

I just called Mr. Vang and he said that they are still reviewing applications. Why are they accepting people if they haven’t finished applications yet? Is he trolling me?

My guess is that they may be reviewing some applications they’re unsure about. JCamp is extremely competitive and they get a lot of great applicants so it can be hard to choose. The ones who found out earlier (my friend did) probably had something in their app that made the decision a little easier. The deadline for people accepted to confirm is April 9, so I’ve heard. Therefore, wait until April 9 and if you still don’t hear anything, consider applying for other programs.

So you got in dovily?? The suspense is killing me.

I haven’t heard anything yet. Makes me regret not doing a video. I’m keeping my hopes up but if things don’t work out, I think I’ll just travel with my family over the summer.

ahhh… the feeling of rejection…

I didn’t make a video either. I mean, I made one after the deadline and Nao vang said that he’d forward it for me… But idk how that went. Xojeanne, did you hear anything yet ?

My friend just got rejected last night…

Dovily made a good point about April 9th. Actually though, the info has to be received–not just postmarked–by April 9th, so that is even better news for all of you still waiting, since it means that results should be out very soon. They’d have to allow at least 3-4ish weekdays for mail to get there, since they’re in California which is at the furthest end of the country. And then at least a day or two to get the e-mail and discuss it with parents. So ideally, you should know by April 1, if they allow 6 weekdays to figure it out and mail it.

I’m hoping for the best for all of you still waiting for results. Good luck!

For any of you still waiting for a decision, stay strong and keep your head up high! :)

It’s great to hear you’re going though, Amplified! I wonder what speakers they’ll have this year. Considering we’re going to be in Washington, I’ll be a little surprised if we don’t hear from at least ONE person who writes for the Washington Post.

Thanks for the support Lotami and Amplified! I’m still waiting and it’s terrible. Amplified, by your thought process, does that mean that they are actually reviewing apps, rather than waiting for open spots for waitlisted kids?

Hey, everybody! I stumbled onto this forum today after frantically waiting to hear about the status of my application. I have to say that after perusing this thread, I’m petrified. Does this mean my JCamp hopes are dashed? According to the submitted app, it says the score is 18 and the average is 9… I’m not entirely sure what that means. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

Hi leesabee, I was lucky enough to be accepted by JCamp this year. I can’t really tell you the significance of the score because I truly don’t know myself but if it’s any indication, when I check my submitted app, my score is 23.

Regardless of the score, I’m sure there are other factors JCamp takes into consideration. I made a video AND submitted samples. I wanted them to know how much I really wanted to go to JCamp.

leesabee, I have a score of 18 and an average of 9 as well. I have no idea what that means. I’m really nervous. My teacher worked really hard on my recommendation and I don’t want to let him down…I also made a video AFTER the deadline and Nao Vang said that he’d forward it to the judges for me, but Idk how that went.

If it makes you guys feel any better I have a score of 9 and an average of 9. I’m presuming that the score is used to accept people into the program.
