AAP (did anyone join? Thoughts & Views )

I am wondering if anyone is part of this program, and what they think about the program, and also what is the general view on the program?

i think i should have joined. they get priority enrollment. and free tutoring.

ok but you have to be selected for it or apply for it by writing a 2-3 page essay about how the program will benefit you or something. I wrote the essay but i dont know if they will let me join yet.

I'm in it for some random/odd reason because I attended their Scholars Day event. I haven't made any use of anything yet and I get priority enrollment anyways through a) the honors program and b) the Alumni Scholars Program.

Free tutoring is true, but I'm south campus and most of the stuff I believe is in Campbell Hall.

they have tutoring for most of the south campus lower div stuff...

The Student Math Center (SMC) is located in MS 3974
and offers group study and tutorials for lower division mathematics courses.

DO you mean this?

Um... I'm assuming that question is for me... and no. APP offers tutoring for LS1-4, Physics 1 and 6 series, and probably for Chem also.... I don't know a thing about the math tutoring but my best guess would be that they offer tutoring for that as well....

The SMC is okay. It's staffed by some TAs so that's okay. I've been a couple times, and there was only once when I didn't receive decent help on my homework.

As for the math/science department, they have most of the physics, chem and math series. As well as astro 3, atmo sci 2&3, physical science, and a few more I can't remember off the top of my head.

But if you're interested, I can see if they offer the class you're interested in.

Overall, I think it's a great program, and there's really no harm in applying for it. The tutors seem dedicated though.

I know I went to a meeting about it, but I forgot if I actually signed up for it or not. How do you know if you're in it?

Go to Campbell hall 1214 and ask them.

I applied, and they emailed me back and the letter said that I was ineligible for the program and that "We regret to inform you that the Committee decided that your statement is not compelling enough to make you eligible for AAP. " I'm not kidding. I was like, ***. I don't even care that I didn't get in anymore, that was just a rude thing to say.

no one emailed me back :(

i wish they would either reject me or accept me already.
i think my story is compelling, but who knows.
