We had to take the 2008 practice ap exam that is published by collegeboard in my ab calc class. The teacher then graded it according to ap standards, etc. According to her, the value of 70% (not 70 points out of 108, but just 70% grade) would be a 3 on the ap exam, which seems like total bull to me. Is it?

70% is a five…

she prolly just wants you to try harder… thats dumb though…

Wait, she graded our exam out of 99 points instead of 108. Does anyone have any idea how an 80 our of 99 would be converted to the 108 scale? (like, where do those extra 9 points come from if there are 45 1 point multiple choice problems, and 54 points form the free response section)

The test is 50% MC and 50% FR. So the MC score (out of 45) gets scaled by a factor of 1.2 to get a possible of 54 points.

yeah ^ thats right. so if you get like 41 right on multiple choice out of 45 and skipped 2 so 2 wrong would be a 40.5 raw multiply that by 1.2 to get 48.6 for the mc then just say you get like 33 on the free response so 81.6/108 and it rounds up so 82/108 that is always a 5.

usually a 5 begins anywhere from 66 to 75 points out of 108
