Obviously the higher level course is better, and obviously engineering schools will care to some degree about your calculus ability.

What are you really asking here?

If I take AB will I be at a disadvantage compared to if I took BC because I know some colleges make you take thier calc courses over if your going into a math/science intensivwe field.

If you take AB, you should take Calc over. Even if you took BC, you may like to take it over at college level. It is looked at as taking ‘the most rigorous’ if you take BC, even if you won’t quite do as well. If you did well in previous math, then you should be okay. AP psy is like an elective, where AP Calc is like a core class, so that should have precedence to do best in Calc.
