AB or BC

<p>I'm taking calc next year by testing out of pre-calc at my school. I want to get into the U of I school of Engineering but feel that if I take AB like the math head at my school suggests then I won't be in the running for admission since my SAT is 1880 (M+CR+W), 40 points below the middle 50%, and my class rank is 25 out of 604, a fair amount above the bottom of the middle 50% at U of I. </p>

<pre><code> What should I do? Take a risk and maybe drop if it's too much or stick to AB. Math is one of my favorite subjects yet the math head at my school seems to not like me taking on too much rigor.

<p>i think you should go for Calc BC. you want to do engineering, so it would be better preparation.</p>
