Abbreviation Explanation

I’m new here and I’ve been reading up but some of the abbreviations just really confuse me. I’ve been able to figure out a few such as BS for boarding school but have no idea what AO and DD mean. If you could explain any abbreviations you use on this sitw, it would be lovely!!

Admissions Officer, Dear Daughter (you’ll also see DS, Dear Son, and DH, Dear Husband, etc.) Welcome!

lots of times you’ll also see:
OOS = out of state;
LAC = Liberal Arts College;
S20 (son; class of 2020 High school) or D23 (HS class of 2023);

NPC = net price calculator for financial aid calculations.
