Abbreviations on the forum

Ok, i just felt I had to do this thread as it seemed there was no post like this. Not quite. The Seven Sisters are Wellesley, Smith, Mt Holyoke, Bryn Mawr, Vassar, Barnard and Radcliffe. And all except for Vassar and Radcliffe are still women's colleges.

Wasn't Radcliffe bough by Harvard? Or was it something else?

Radcliffe was basically the women's extension to Harvard (rather like Barnard and Columbia). If memory serves right, it was absorbed into Harvard -- some of the humanities departments are still technically under 'Radcliffe', IIRC.

I think it only offers research programs now (too lazy to check on web)
