Hello everyone, I’m considering going through an a.s. BMET program, and I have a couple of questions. I’ve been researching the field for a little while now, and I’m very interested, but I want to make sure an associates degree is sufficient as far as job opportunities go. I’ve heard a b.s. is overkill, and I’ve also heard its necessary to get anywhere in the field (Not sure how credible those sources were though). I was hoping for some input from those in the field, or know people in the field.
Also I’ve been searching, and can’t find a clear answer to this, but how important is ABET accreditation of a BMET program? It seems as if there are only 4 schools I could find in the entire nation that offer an ABET accredited a.s. program. None of which are close to me of course. Is it worth it to move for that accreditation? Or can I go to any reputable CC or tech school that offers a solid BMET program? And if any college will do, how much more marketable is the ABET accreditation? Thanks for reading
Eric
