Ability to Benefit form on SIG - HELP!!!! Please!!!!!

My SIG account updated today to say that I'm missing the Ability to Benefit Verification form but when I click on it it just brings up a fax cover sheet and no form.... what exactly is this???? Is this an important form? Does anyone know where i can get it? what is the form for anyways?

Sorry, don't even know what a SIG account is. Would consider calling admissions & asking them about this. Please let us know what it is when you learn. Thanks.

the SIG account is the site that says what forms they have received/are missing. its http://sig.usc.edu/ Do you know if you had to fill out that form?

Hey...kaitylin...I got the same form on my SIG account under the financial aid section..I am assuming that you are a transfer student as that is also what I am ...

I called USC yesterday and they told me "not to worry about the form"...that basically they want you to reaffirm that you graduated from high school (because in order to receive financial aid you have to graduate from high school, have a GED, or equivalent, OR take an Ability to Benefit Test).

Here is the important information: They told me that once you submit your complete financial aid forms, the Ability to Benefit form automatically shows up on everybodies account and basically the office of financial aid calls over to the office of the register/admissions to get a copy of your hs transcript. This can take a few days so I went ahead and called my high school and had them fax a copy of my transcript directly to financial aid. Once I did that and called USC to reaffirm that financial aid received it, it was removed from my SIG account.

You should call financial aid and they will either reaffirm that they have your hs transcript or tell you that they are still in the process of getting it from admissions. If they don't have it you can either wait or have your hs fax a copy. Either way, this information will not hold up your financial aid package. Don't freak out about it too much..

Sorry to be long winded...I was just like you a few days ago and nobody on the forums knew what this was...I am happy to pass along the information to you....

Thanks so much!!!!! I've been worrying about it... Yes, I am a transfer too and I really hope I get a decision soon...
