On this last exam I scored a 29C (34E 27M 30R 25S) with a 25 science. I found this this to be strange since I almost always scored 30+ on my science practice tests with my highest being a 34. I felt really confident when I finished June’s exam and did everything that I would normally do on my practice sections. What should I do? Is it worth asking for a rescore? I am really surprised.

My daughter’s science score dropped from a 36 in February to a 30 on the June test. I’ve heard on other threads that a 4-6 point drop in science happened to others who took this latest test.
I got a 36 on the science so I don’t think there was some fundamental flaw that made it impossible to score highly, but if you felt confident about the section, I think it would be worth asking for a rescore (maybe you missed a line or something).
My son scored 1-2 points higher in each for reading, English and math, but science dropped 4 points. Based on the practice tests we were expecting a 1-2 point increase for science.
I know in my prep tests (I had some from ACT.org and in two prep books) I had a steady 25, and I got an 18 on the actual test. I assume either it is that “curve” some kept referring to or maybe this test was generally more difficult…
