Hey fellas, I was wondering whether submitting an application before EA deadline is beneficial or not. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Do you mean whether to send in your app 1 month before deadline vs the day of? The wouldn’t be any difference.
When there is a set deadline it doesn’t matter when you submit as long as it is before that deadline. In contrast, for rolling admission colleges the earlier you submit the better.
It doesn’t matter. What makes sending it in early beneficial is that you then have time to make sure the other components of your app (test scores, recs) are in as well.
My school counselor said that it is beneficial since the date you submitted will be notified by administrators and they perfer the earlier, the better. Is it right?
You are seriously overthinking this. your theory in #4 is a stretch.
Your counselor is wrong. Colleges certainly prefer to get some earlier so they can start to read any complete packages, but it will not make one iota’s difference in the decision process. Period. End of Story. The only benefit is that it is now off your plate. Good luck.
