About English placement exam and oral proficiency exam

<p>Hi everybody, I intend to accept UCLA offer but I know little about the English placement exam and test of proficienct exam. Can anybody help me?</p>

All incoming students must meet the UC Entry Level Writing Requirement before they can enroll in Freshman Composition and many other courses unless they have one of the following:</p>

<pre><code>* 30 or higher on the ACT Combined English/Writing test; or

• 680 or higher on the Writing section of the SAT Reasoning Test (or on the
  SAT-II Writing subject Test); or
• 3 or higher on either Advanced Placement (AP) exam in English; or
• 6 or higher on an International Baccalaureate Standard Level English A exam; or
• 5 or higher on an International Baccalaureate High Level English A exam; or
• a C or better grade in a transferable college-level course in English composition.

<p>If you meet the SAT requirement of 680 or higher in Writing, UCLA will waive the Writing I requirement. Most of our student body has this or AP credit so its uncommon for students to have to take the exam. Otherwise, here is more information regarding the exam. </p>
