What is NYU's financial aid package like? Are full ride scholarships available? What is NYU's avarage financial aid package, particularly to low income students?

Thank you

Anyone out there?!

That was a good laugh. You made my day. NYU's financial aid, as I've heard on this site and elsewhere, is horrendous.

Haha word. The most I've ever heard NYU give out is like 25-30 grand, that's very rare though. I'm actually hoping for it cause my family's income is very low too, like 15K a year.

I'm hoping to get refered to HEOP too, it's for New York kids who have low income, mostly minorities too.

Please search these threads about the FA ant NYU. It has been discussed ad nauseaum.
It is horrendous. No such thing as full rides and they do not meet full need. They are also going to reduce their merit aid. Lots of loans and large work study.

Hi, I just started my freshman year at NYU. I'm in the College of Arts & Science (CAS). My financial aid package looks somewhat like this:

CAS Scholarship $12,500
some grant $1,000
some grant $5,000
some grant $2,000 <-- I got this added on after I appealed to their Financial Aid Office.

So yea, not even $21,000 in financial aid.

They did offer me a $4,000 work-study and 2 student loans totalling around $6,000. And I had NY state TAP and Federal grants.

I had around $10,000 left that wasn't met.

Luckily I applied to loads of outside scholarships and have that remaining need met.

I hope this helps.

rainbow, was that CAS scholarship merit-based?

Hey rainbow do you mind if I ask you what your family's yearly income is?

Is there a set scholarship for NMF?
