About Getting into Seoul National University as a Graduate Student

Hello,

So, this is my last year as an undergraduate student with a Biology Major and a Psychology Minor.

I currently have a very low GPA, so around a 2.0. I have failed a couple classes because my father passed away in the middle of my college years and have struggled with my family.

I am a Korean-American student who was born in America and raised in America. My fiancee is Korean and we met in Boston. (Oh, by the way, I went to Boston University).

I am planning on moving on to Graduate school because I really do enjoy the science field, but it’s been really difficult to keep up with my family life and school. I didn’t even bother to take a leave of absence because I wanted to make money as soon as possible, but it has left me with a really low GPA.

Anyways, my fiancee wants me to get into Seoul National University for graduate school, but he doesn’t know the severity of my situation. He doesn’t know how poorly I did at school. Thus, thinking that I did okay~ he wants me to apply for a top University in Korea for graduate school.

What are my chances? And do I have any chance at getting in?

Sincerely,

Very Lost Student.

Grad school in Korea seems unrealistic. You need to square with your fiance about your grades. If he’s not supportive of your situation, then you need to reevaluate your future with him.

Not sure if it’s still relevant but I think, from an honest perspective, it seems unlikely that the board of admissions will admit you… Sorry  Just talk to your fiance; he’ll appreciate your honesty and most likely will understand. Hope it works out
