Any current students or anybody who knows something willing to tell me more about Marquette?

What would you like to know? I have a D who is a senior there now and a nephew who is a freshman. They absolutely love it and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you may have (I'm also an alum!)

What do you think of the city of Milwaukee? How's the social life on campus? academics, were they challenging? how did you like your professors? did you have small classes and get to know the professor? just anything about the university that stands out.. good or bad. would you recommend it?

Milwaukee is really an up and coming city. The downtown has undergone a renaissance in recent years with many people moving back to live in new condos in the city. There's a brand new world class art museum, professional sports within walking distance or a short ride from campus (Milwaukee Bucks, Brewers) and no less than 20 professional theater companies. There are dozens of new clubs and restaurants too. Plus being so close to Lake Michigan, students are always down at the beach or the lakefront rollerblading or running in nice weather.

As far as classes, after freshman year when my daughter was in a few big classess that are general for all freshmen to take, most of her classes have been around 20-25 students. She has absolutely loved her professors, they give out home phone numbers, are completely accesible, email the students on weekends and late into the night to answer questions. One of the professors (a well-known emeritus prof in philosophy) even had her and her roommate over to dinner at his dome with his wife to just to visit. Their attention to students is extarordinary. My daughter's roommate transferred from GW and couldn't get over the personal attention - at GW most of her professors didn't even know her name.

Probably the biggest thing against Marquette is that winter lasts too long! But that's a pretty small thing compared to all the advantages.
