I really don't know whether to purchase a meal plan or not. So, I need some advices. Are you guys going to purchase one? What's its pros and cons? Is there any alternative if you live in dorm? Thank you in advance.

Personally, I don't know if I could've lived without the meal plan when I was in the dorm last year. The kitchen in my dorm was really unavailable (Creswell - or I just never figured out how to get access to it). It's nice to just go somewhere and have food prepared for you. The food is really good, but I'll be honest...if you want to go out to eat on weekends, don't buy the 7 day plan. I only went to the dining hall on the weekends maybe no more than 10 times. But you might just wanna get it just in case. Up to you. Since I'm a picky eater, the food got really tiring after a while because I ate the same stuff, but it's still good...

If you are an incoming freshman living in the dorms- Purchase the meal plan!

All of your friends will be eating there, it's pretty good food, and its unlimited.

While at orientation, I was amazed at UGA's dining facilities! I'm a vegetarian, and I was highly pleased with it. Great food!!! Just remember to exercise regularly and/or be careful on what you eat. "Freshman 15" is highly possible for me. :(

I already purchased the 7-day meal plan, but I will probably eat out on the weekends. I just got the 7-day instead of the 5-day because it was only about a $100 more.

Get the meal plan. The foods really excellent and it will be another way to meet people by sharing tables or going to eat with your dormmates. Most freshman will be on the meal plan and I think you'll regret it if you aren't.

i agree, if u are a freshmen u really have no other choice but to buy the meal plan, b/c they require u to live in the dorms ur 1st yr.most ppl decide to live off-campus starting their 2nd year and will get off the meal plan. there are some ppl who can't live without the meal plan and there are some ppl who can. I personally didn't like the food, but i have been told that uga has one of the best dining commons in the nation
