Hi, I'm new to the MYP program of IB (International Baccaluarate)
my school gives grades from 1-7.
So I was wondering how the number grades are converted to letter grades (A,B,C,D,F)
when the transcript is sent to Amercian colleges.
Please HELP!!!
Also, our school only gives solid number grades, like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. Not 6.2 or anything.
So HElp!!

that is interesting bcuz it is hard to say. but i’m suprised that your school does not conver to a typical 4.0 scale/A,B,C,D,F scale.

I would say it would be best like this:

7 = A+
6 = A
5 = B
4= C
3 = D
2, 1 = F

That is how I’ve gotten it at my school, but we automatically convert the grade. :/

for most schools, the grading system is as follows.
A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
F = 0

and if it is an honors/myp/IB class, then you add a point to each letter grade for your weighted grade.

colleges re-weight your grades when you submit them, and they will follow the scale i just mentioned.

My school never used 1-7 for MYP. Only time 1-7 comes in for us are the externals for DP.

well, our school is certainly unique because it’s not in England.
So that’s why i think it uses 1~7.
